Host: Flint’s Club 93.7 Artimis here. I have the very hypnotic is what I like to say because you're a hypnotist, right? That's your official job title?

Mark: That is my official job title, yes.

That’s coming up this Wednesday. Got Mark on the phone right now. Now, Mark how long have you been hypnotizing people to quit smoking?

Mark: This month we just hit our 20th year of doing this. It’s been an incredible ride too.

Host: That’s crazy. Twenty years. And you have a pretty good success rate, correct?

Mark: Yeah, we get a great following. So, I mean, the key thing is we’re just after changing people’s lives and changing people’s habits. And everybody seems to jump on the board with this thing.

Host: Now, you know these seminars, a lot of people hear the word seminar and they’re like, “Oh, it’s a gimmick.” You know, you hear sometimes even like a seminar or you know, that it’s sort of like the same thing as like a timeshare meeting. You know what I’m saying? It’s where it’s like, “Oh, it’s too good to be true. It’s not going to happen.” How can you change people’s minds on the fact that this seminar will get you to stop smoking and help you lose weight?

Mark: Well, then we throw the hypnosis in there too and then you have the perception of people barking and clucking and doing crazy sill things. So, you know we’re all for two. So, let me comment, set the record straight. First and foremost we go into hypnosis every single day of our life. This is why it’s so easy to put somebody in a hypnotic state. We don’t call it hypnosis. Every time you’re driving your car though for a long distance you zone out, forget the last 30, 40 miles. Felt like it was five seconds, “Highway hypnosis”. When we go to bed at night your brain before it completely shuts down goes into a brain activity state known as an alpha state. You’re in that state in the morning. Without getting overly technical, those are creative states where the subconscious mind is like a sponge, it absorbs information.

So, during hypnosis we put everybody back into those nice, relaxed, receptive states and we start working on the habits that they want to consciously do in the first place which happens to be with our programs losing weight, living a healthier lifestyle and becoming healthy lifelong non-smokers.

Host: Now –and that’s the thing too. I mean, you –have you had people that have smoked for decades and you’ve gotten them to quit smoking?

Mark: Yeah, we got people –I mean, just thing week I’ve gotten probably about ten different testimonials, 30 years non-smoker now, 43 years of smoking, now a non-smoker. I mean, it’s just incredible, incredible. The time has nothing to do with it. The key thing is this. They don’t react and have to think about not smoking, they just do it automatically.

Host: Yeah. Definitely. I mean, you changed my perception on the whole event now. Now that when you look at it in that perspective of you know, when look at life as a non-smoker, even if you are a smoker right now and you kind of twist the tables on it, it makes a lot more sense to go about that way. So, that’s very interesting.

Mark: Yeah. Go ahead. It’s the same thing with the weight I think if we were just going to lead into that. The weight loss, we work on the image. Everybody goes on diet and 95% of the people that go on a diet gain the weight back. What we do is we work on your internal image or snapshot which effects your self-talk which is a form of hypnosis and then what happens after hypnosis, you come out of there with the healthier image, attracting the healthier habits automatically. You don’t have to use willpower.
