Mark: Great. Thanks for having me on.

Host: Oh, it's a pleasure. Now, I am very intrigued by the whole hypnosis thing. Back when I lived in Indiana a really good friend of mine, Raven was just a fantastic hypnotist and he did some fantastic things. What you're doing though is using this to help people do several things. Stop smoking, lose weight. Give us a little bit of background on how you've been able to merge these two together.

Mark: Well, you know number one and number two resolution are losing weight and stopping smoking. Unfortunately, at this point of year most people have given up on their resolution. So, let’s just in a few minutes show people how they can get control over these behaviors. We use hypnosis as a tool to help people do the things they already want to do consciously. See, when you go out there and do something consciously you have to use willpower. And a behavior or a habit is a thousand times more powerful than any type of willpower. So, it becomes automatic under hypnosis.

Host: That’s incredible. So, that’s basically what it is. You have to be willing to do this to begin with otherwise it really won’t work. Right?

Mark: Yes. It’s okay to be skeptical. I mean, we find a lot of our clients are even not even sure if they can be hypnotized. Most of their perceptions of hypnosis is what they see on TV where you’re kind of barking and clucking and doing silly things. And it looks like the hypnotist has mind and body control. That’s the misperception of hypnosis. We actually go into it all the time. That’s why it’s easy to go under hypnosis.

When you drive in your car for a long distance and you zone out. You don’t remember the last 30, 40, 50 miles. Goes by like the blink of the eyes. That’s “Highway hypnosis”. Before you go to bed you go into a brain activity state known as an alpha state. That’s also classified as a hypnotic state. Just the sense of daydreaming off is a light powerful hypnotic state. That’s where your brain becomes creative. So, it’s a relaxed state of awareness. And that’s where we’re going to get people back into. So, that the subconscious mind becomes open like a sponge absorbing all the good positive behaviors.
