Mark: Yes. We’re going to do weight loss and the stop smoking program. Let’s just talk about hypnosis in general. Most people don’t even know if they can be hypnotized, but in actuality, we’ve been getting hypnotized every day of our life. We actually go into a hypnosis when we drive, before we go to bed we go into an alpha state of brain activity. Without getting overly technical, it’s a relaxed state of awareness. And all we do is get people back into these incredibly relaxed receptive states, so that they start working on the habits they want to in the first place which happens to be losing weight and becoming nonsmokers.

Host: I was once on a cruise ship and I was hypnotized, but they had us doing a lot of you know, random stuff on stage and I am susceptible to hypnotism. What about other people that say they’re susceptible to hypnotism?

Mark: Well, when it comes to stage hypnosis what you just experienced, there’s a smaller percent that will go through that. You cannot hypnotize anybody to do anything that they don’t want to consciously do. So, when you see somebody running around like a chicken with their head cut off they want to have fun. We actually can work on habits under hypnosis. Our form of hypnosis everybody can experience because they’re using this type of hypnosis every day of their lives.

When they drive like is said, when they go to sleep at night, if you ever read a book and you daydreamed off and you said to yourself, “I have no idea that I was reading.” Those are all light [inaudible 0:01:49.8] hypnosis. And that’s the state you need to get into to communicate to the subconscious mind. And subconscious mind ties into our nervous system. So, when you anchor a habit, an image, in your subconscious it makes you want to do it. Everybody knows what they should do to lose weight. Everybody’s been on a billion diets. Number one and number two resolutions each and every year are losing weight, becoming a nonsmoker.

Smokers love to smoke even though they know it’s killing them, but knowing and doing something comes down to an image in the subconscious mind of wanting to do it and that turns into an automatic habit. It works 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year without any willpower.

Host: Absolutely incredible. Now, what about people like my grandmother who are kind of the epitome of skeptical? Can we talk a little bit skepticism?

Mark: Well, let’s talk about skeptics for a second here if anybody’s skeptical. If the person’s skeptical here’s what I found is this. Usually they are analytical personality, actually very good people to hypnotize. They are engineers, law enforcement, people who are teachers, or just a person who has a very analytical personality. Their conscious works 24 hours a day seven days a week. They are some of our best clients. Their internal skeptic is a little bit higher.
